New Delhi: Prominent political leaders across India paid tribute to the late former Union Minister Arun Jaitley on his birth anniversary, honoring his significant contributions to the nation.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah reflected on Jaitley’s influence in shaping India’s policies, noting his expertise in legal and policy matters. “Remembering Arun Jaitley Ji on his Jayanti. His contributions to the effective implementation of the government’s vision and his exceptional oratory skills in communicating it to the public and Parliament will continue to inspire future policymakers,” Shah posted on X.
BJP President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda also shared his respects, highlighting Jaitley’s strategic insight and simplicity. “I remember and pay my respects to senior BJP leader, former Finance Minister, and Padma Vibhushan Shri Arun Jaitley Ji on his birth anniversary. His contributions to nation-building are unforgettable,” Nadda wrote.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju praised Jaitley’s intellect and impact, stating, “Today, I remember Arun Jaitley Ji on his Jayanti—a leader whose grace, intellect, and commitment set benchmarks for public life. His ability to simplify complexities and connect with people has left a lasting impression. His wisdom continues to guide us.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized Jaitley’s role in fortifying India, saying, “Humble tribute to former Union Finance Minister, Padma Vibhushan Arun Jaitley Ji, on his birth anniversary. His contributions to building a ‘Self-reliant India – Strong India’ are unforgettable and inspiring.”
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged Jaitley’s legal expertise and policy reforms, stating, “Remembering former Finance Minister and one of the tallest leaders of our party, Shraddheya Arun Jaitley Ji, on his Jayanti. His sharp legal acumen and brilliant oratory enriched parliamentary procedures and led to key reforms like GST.”
Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur also paid homage, saying, “Humble greetings on the birth anniversary of senior BJP leader, former Finance Minister, and Padma Vibhushan awardee Shri Arun Jaitley Ji. Arun Jaitley remains a respected figure in Indian politics, inspiring leaders across the spectrum for his contributions to governance, legal reforms, and nation-building. He served as Finance Minister from 2014 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, playing a crucial role in shaping economic policies and implementing significant reforms. Jaitley passed away in August 2019 after a brief illness.
