Rajasthan heatwave: Red alert in 4 districts; Relief expected from May 25

The effect of the heat wave continues in the state. On Thursday, a red alert has been issued in 4 districts of the state (Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu).

Jaipur, May 22: The effect of the heat wave continues in the state. On Thursday, a red alert has been issued in 4 districts of the state (Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu). Whereas, an orange alert for heat wave has been issued in 3 districts (Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Jodhpur).

Here, on Wednesday, the weather suddenly changed in many areas of the state, and there was a storm.

Weather experts said that people are expected to get relief from this scorching heat after May 25. When the Nautapa season start. During this time, a big weather system will be active in the Arabian Sea from May 25-26, due to which there is a possibility of rain along with thunderstorms in most parts of Rajasthan for three to four days.

A woman died in Dholpur

  • A tree fell in Baretha Khurd village in Dholpur district on Wednesday night due to a storm. 
  • Due to being buried under it, woman Rajkumari, 36, wife of Ramnath Thakur, resident of Baretha Khurd, died. 
  • Electricity poles fell at many places in Dholpur district due to storm late at night.

Strong storm in Chomu

  • Late night in Chomu the weather suddenly changed and a strong storm started blowing. 
  • During this time, the curtains outside the shops came in contact with the electric wire. Due to which a short circuit occurred along with a loud explosion.

Hope to get relief from 25 May

  • According to weather experts, people of Rajasthan are likely to get relief from this scorching heat from 25-26 May. A cyclonic circulation is forming near Goa in the Arabian Sea. 
  • This system is moving further northwestwards and may further intensify into a low-pressure system in the next few days. 
  • Due to the effect of this system, there is a possibility of cloud cover, rain and surface winds in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana. 
  • The effect of this system is likely to remain till May 30 in Rajasthan.
