Rajasthan scorches at 45 degrees; Rain expected in selected districts on May 17

On Thursday, the maximum temperature in Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Barmer and Jaisalmer reached above 44 degrees. Sriganganagar had the hottest day of this season with a temperature of 45.8 degrees.

The weather centre has also issued a heatwave warning for the next four days in the Bikaner-Sriganganagar area. On Thursday, the maximum temperature in Jaipur was recorded at 42.4 degrees. Here, water was sprayed on the roads using anti-smog guns.

Temperature reached close to 45 degrees in Bikaner

On Thursday the maximum temperature in Bikaner was 44.8 degrees, Churu 44.1, Jaisalmer 44.9, Barmer 44.2, Kota 42.6 and Jodhpur 42.5 degrees Celsius.

Sikar, Pilani, Bhilwara, Nagaur, Baran, Jhunjhunu, Pali, Dausa also recorded maximum temperatures between 40 and 43 degrees. Udaipur, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur were such districts where the maximum temperature was below 40 degrees Celsius. Dungarpur experienced the least heat, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.1 degrees Celsius.

Weather changed in the evening, clouds covered the sky

In Udaipur, Pratapgarh, Chittorgarh, Sirohi areas, the sky remained clear throughout the day and the sun shone brightly. But here the weather changed after 5 pm and after dusty winds, the sky became cloudy. The maximum temperature in Udaipur was 38 degrees, while in Chittorgarh it was 42.3 degrees Celsius.
