New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute over 71,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals on Monday, December 23. The event will take place via video conferencing at 10:30 a.m., and the Prime Minister will address the gathering.

The Rozgar Mela will be held at 45 locations across the country, with recruitments for various Central government Ministries and Departments. The selected candidates will join Ministries such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Posts, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Higher Education, and the Department of Financial Services, among others.

According to a government release, the Rozgar Mela is part of Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to prioritize employment generation. It aims to provide significant opportunities for youth to engage in nation-building and self-empowerment.

Earlier, on October 29, PM Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth through video conferencing. He emphasized that the government’s policies and decisions directly impact job creation. He cited projects like the development of infrastructure such as expressways, railways, ports, airports, and expansion of new industries, all of which contribute to job creation. The Prime Minister also highlighted initiatives like the laying of water and gas pipelines, building schools and universities, and reducing logistics costs as key drivers of employment.

The Rozgar Mela initiative was launched in October 2022, and the first phase saw over 75,000 appointment letters handed out. The recruitments are managed by Central Ministries and Departments, and conducted through agencies like UPSC, SSC, and the Railway Recruitment Board. The recruitment process has been streamlined and made more efficient for quicker hiring.
