New Delhi: The Delhi BJP has launched its fifth campaign song, titled “Dilwaalo ki Dilli ko ab BJP sarkaar chahiye,” focusing on the pollution of the Yamuna River as the February 5 Assembly elections approach.

The song addresses major issues faced by Delhi residents, such as pollution, unsafe drinking water, poor waste management, sewage problems, and overflowing landfills. It reflects the BJP’s vision for the city, highlighting the party’s past achievements and its commitment to similar progress in Delhi.

Positioning itself as the “Sanatan ke Rakshak,” the BJP draws a comparison between the cleanup of Gujarat’s Sabarmati River and its promise to make the Yamuna pollution-free.

In an interview with IANS, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari stated, “The effects of our manifesto are evident in Delhi. Every woman below the poverty line will receive Rs 2,500 monthly, and her family will have access to LPG cylinders for Rs 500, regardless of market prices.”

He emphasized that even low-income citizens would have access to quality healthcare similar to that of wealthier individuals. For senior citizens over 70, the party promises to ensure their well-being, regardless of their economic status. Tiwari also mentioned the BJP’s commitment to a “double-engine government” in Delhi, pledging universal health insurance if elected.

Additionally, a welfare board will be established for auto-rickshaw drivers, e-rickshaw drivers, taxi drivers, domestic workers, and women employed as house help, he added.

Tiwari explained that the party is using campaign songs to communicate its promises effectively, which is why the fifth song was released today.

In response to AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s letter to the Election Commission, demanding action against police and BJP workers allegedly attacking AAP volunteers in New Delhi, Tiwari dismissed the claims as “lies.”

He accused AAP members of causing disruptions during their campaign events, citing a complaint from their candidate in Ghonda, Ajay Mahawar, regarding AAP interference in meetings. Tiwari criticized Kejriwal for not addressing these issues and instead spreading falsehoods.

Tiwari also praised the Income Tax relief announced in the Union Budget 2025, noting its significant impact on Delhi, especially for salaried workers. He highlighted that individuals earning up to Rs 12 lakh annually will no longer face tax concerns, and TDS on rental income will now only apply to amounts exceeding Rs 6 lakh, which he believes will encourage investment and small business growth. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this relief to the middle class.

Voting for the Delhi Assembly elections is set for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
