The Indian Army, in partnership with the Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other security agencies, successfully conducted joint operations that led to the recovery of 11 weapons and various military supplies in the hill and valley regions of Churachandpur, Chandel, and Thoubal districts in Manipur.
As per a statement from the Ministry of Defence, on October 22, an intelligence-based operation in the Thoroilok area of Churachandpur district resulted in the seizure of two country-made mortars (Pompi), one homemade pistol, grenades, explosives, ammunition, and additional military supplies. In the same time frame, the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police also found one .303 rifle, one single-barrel rifle, ammunition, and other military equipment in Lamzang village, near Bongbal village.
In the Chandel district, Assam Rifles conducted combing operations between Songkhom and Gunjil village, leading to the recovery of one automatic weapon, two locally-made mortars (Pompi), one single-barrel gun, ammunition, and military supplies.
Additionally, on October 23, Assam Rifles, together with Manipur Police, discovered a cache in Kwarok Maring village of Thoubal district that included one 9mm homemade pistol, one single-barrel breech-loading gun, two grenades, ammunition, and other military materials.
The successful recovery of these military stores underscores the effective collaboration among the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and other law enforcement entities, reflecting their dedication to maintaining security and safety in the region.
