Hyderabad: Seven people lost their lives in two separate road accidents in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Saturday.
In Andhra Pradesh’s Sri Sathya Sai district, four individuals were killed and ten others were injured when a mini-van collided with a stationary truck on the national highway near Bullasamudram. The accident occurred around 5 a.m., likely due to poor visibility caused by fog. Four passengers died at the scene, and four others sustained critical injuries. They were rushed to a hospital in Madakasira, with seven of them later transferred to Bangalore for further treatment. The deceased, identified as Ratnamma (68), Manoj (32), Prem Kumar (30), and Atarva (4), were part of the same family returning home after visiting the Sri Venkateshwara Temple at Tirumala. The mini-van was carrying 14 family members, and the driver reportedly did not see the parked truck.
In a second accident in Telangana’s Nalgonda district, three people were killed when a DCM truck crashed into a roadside shop. This incident occurred near Pedda Dargah, on the outskirts of Devarakonda Town. Police reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the crash. The victims, identified as Abdul Khader, Haji, and Nabeena, were sitting in the shop at the time. They all died at the scene and were later taken to the Government Hospital Devarakonda for autopsy. The DCM driver has been arrested, and authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
