Shah Rukh Khan death threat Case: Mumbai Police arrest accused from Chhattisgarh

More details about the arrested suspect are yet to be revealed.

Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested a man from Chhattisgarh for allegedly threatening to kill Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Police officials are currently interrogating the suspect. Last week, Mumbai Police received a threatening call to Shah Rukh at Bandra station. The caller also demanded Rs 50 lakh, following which the police registered a case. On tracing the call, its location was found to be from Raipur team of Mumbai police was sent for further investigation. More details about the suspect are yet to be revealed.

The threat to Shah Rukh comes after a series of threats allegedly made by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to his fellow friend and Bollywood star Salman Khan. The person who gave death threat to Shah Rukh Khan was identified as Faizan of Raipur

Earlier on October 24, Mumbai Police arrested a man from Jamshedpur who threatened Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore. After the Mumbai Traffic Police received the threatening message, the police registered a case against the unknown person and started investigation.

Both the actors have been under tight security for quite some time now. Salman was specially upgraded to Y+ security after the shootout incident outside his residence in April this year. The shootout incident took place outside Salman’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area on April 14. Subsequent arrests revealed links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, leading the Mumbai police to invoke the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all those involved in the shootout.
