New Delhi: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for her remark calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent 100-minute speech in Parliament boring. He suggested that her comments stem from her being “new to this.”
Priyanka likened the speech to enduring a tedious “double period of mathematics” in school, stating, “The PM has not spoken anything new. He has bored us. It took me decades back.”
In response, Rijiju noted, “Perhaps she didn’t grasp what PM Modi was conveying, but everything he said was accurate. He presented 11 principles for transforming India into a ‘developed nation.’ This vision is not limited to any one party; we all need to embrace it.”
He emphasized the importance of unity in working towards the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, expressing confidence that this objective can be realized.
Additionally, Rijiju shared his excitement about the ‘TB Mukt Bharat Awareness cricket match’ taking place at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. He expressed optimism, stating, “I am very happy that we have gathered for this match. I am fully confident that TB will lose, and the country will win.”
The ongoing 20-over cricket match features Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s team competing against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar’s team. The match began at 9 a.m. on Sunday and is being broadcast live on Doordarshan’s sports channel and Sansad TV. Team ‘Lok Sabha Speaker XI’ is captained by Anurag Singh Thakur, while ‘Rajya Sabha Chairman XI’ is led by Kiren Rijiju.
