Sonia Gandhi refers Prez Murmu as ‘Poor Thing’, BJP Slams for disrespect

New Delhi: Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have reacted to the President’s speech in Parliament. After the President’s speech, Sonia Gandhi said, “She is a poor lady and was tired after the speech.” At the same time, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi called President Murmu’s speech boring. Now politics has heated up over this. BJP said that Sonia Gandhi had insulted the President.

BJP National President JP Nadda, referring to Sonia Gandhi’s statement, called Congress anti-tribal. Posting on Instagram, he said, “We condemn the use of the word ‘Poor’ for India’s President Draupadi Murmu by BJP workers. Congress does this deliberately, which reflects its anti-poor and anti-tribal thinking. Congress party should apologize unconditionally to the President and the tribal communities of India.”

BJP leader and Union Minister SP Singh Baghel has reacted to the statement of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He said, “Sonia Gandhi’s statement is an insult to a tribal woman sitting on the highest post. The President’s address was an account of the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past year. Every section of society has benefited from the last budget and the government’s action plans.”

BJP MP Sambit Patra has also reacted to the statement of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi. He said, “The statement given by Sonia Gandhi regarding the address is not correct. The President has put forth his point boldly. Sonia Gandhi should apologize for her comment.”

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, the BJP MP said that he is not able to launch again and again.

Before the President’s address in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media outside the House. The PM said – Many historic bills will be introduced in this session. Many important decisions will be taken in this session to ensure that every woman gets a respectable life. We will reform, perform and transform.
