After taking a 1-0 lead in the series, Suryakumar Yadav and his Team India arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Monday, ahead of their second T20I match against Bangladesh. The team received a warm reception from fans at the airport before heading to their hotel in the national capital.
Looking to secure the series with another victory on Wednesday, India aims for a high-scoring match in the upcoming game. In the first T20I held in Gwalior, India triumphed by seven wickets, having won the toss and chosen to field.
In the opening match, Bangladesh’s captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, scored 27 runs off 25 balls, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz contributed 35 not out from 32 balls. The visiting team struggled with their batting, finishing at 127 runs. The Indian bowling unit, led by Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy, who both took three wickets, was instrumental in limiting Bangladesh.
During India’s run chase, Hardik Pandya delivered a spectacular performance, scoring 39 not out off just 16 balls, supported by Sanju Samson and skipper Suryakumar Yadav, both of whom scored 29 runs. Bangladesh managed to claim only two wickets in the innings, with Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz being the only bowlers to take wickets.
Arshdeep Singh was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ for his outstanding bowling display.
