Warangal: Polling for the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections is currently taking place at designated centers in Warangal, Telangana, with stringent security measures in place. Authorities are implementing comprehensive strategies to facilitate the smooth execution of the elections.

In a statement to ANI, Warangal Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Nandiram Naik shared that there are two polling centers: Rangashaipet Government College and Islamia Junior College in Warangal. He noted that there are polling centers in two ‘mandals’ for the MLC elections. To ensure peaceful proceedings, the police have deployed officers to each location, with one Sub-Inspector and four constables, including a female constable, assigned to each center. Naik mentioned that after voting concludes at 4 PM, the ballot boxes will be escorted to the reception center in Nalgonda.

The elections are being held for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ Constituency as part of the MLC elections in Telangana, with polling taking place from 8 AM to 4 PM. The count is scheduled for March 3.

Earlier in the week, Union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, remarked that the upcoming MLC elections represent a contest between betrayal and deception versus the fight for justice. He urged graduates and teachers to hold the Congress government accountable for their perceived deceit related to the six guarantees. Kumar promised that if BJP candidates prevail, they would initiate protests and agitations against the Congress government within a week. He stressed that the MLC elections are a matter of honor (“Izzat Ka Sawal”) and called on party workers to strive for a significant victory, leveraging social media to amplify their campaign efforts.
