New Delhi: The Modi government has been formed in the country for the third time, and with this, the ministers have also been allocated their ministries. On Thursday, big news came out regarding the National Security Advisor (NSA).
Ajit Doval has been appointed as the National Security Advisor (NSA) for the third consecutive time. Ajit Doval was first appointed as the National Security Advisor of the country on May 20, 2014. Since then, Doval has held this post. Before him, Shivshankar Menon was the national security advisor of the country. Ajit Doval, a 1968 batch IPS officer, is considered an expert in diplomatic thinking and counterterrorism.
On the other hand, no change has been made in the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. PK Mishra will continue to handle this responsibility. The Appointment Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the reappointment of Ajit Doval and PK Mishra. IAS (retired) PK Mishra has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister as of June 10, 2024. PK Mishra is a 1972 batch IPS officer. He has been working with Prime Minister Modi as Principal Secretary for the last decade.
PK Mishra will look after administrative matters and appointments in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Apart from this, Ajit Doval will handle the responsibilities of national security, military affairs, and intelligence.
