Once again, panic arose in Jaipur after a bomb threat was received at The Palace School located in Jaleb Chowk in the middle of the city. On Monday morning, after seeing the threatening email on the school’s mail ID, the administration and police immediately swung into action. The school was evacuated in a hurry, and the dog squad and bomb disposal squad were deployed on the spot.
The incident happened around 11 am, when the school administration noticed the mail. The mail had come on Sunday itself, but due to the school being closed, no one paid attention to it. On seeing the mail on Monday, Manak Chowk police station and police control room were informed. As soon as the information was received, police and special force teams reached the school and the entire campus was cordoned off.
The bomb squad and dog squad immediately started a search operation in the school and safely evacuated the children, staff, and teachers. After this, the school premises were completely evacuated, and an investigation was started. According to the police, the mail directly threatened that the school would be blown up with a bomb. However, the cyber cell is investigating who sent the mail and from where.
This is not the first time such threats have been received in Jaipur. Last month on May 30, there were threats to blow up Mansarovar Metro Station and two court complexes, the Jaipur Metro Court and the Family Court. The Family Court was searched for about four hours, while after searching the Metro Court, the premises were declared safe.
