Agartala: The third annual State-level fish festival in Tripura recently took place in Agartala, aiming to enhance the state’s fisheries sector and motivate local fish farmers to boost production. This festival provided a platform to engage a broader audience, support the community, and address the rising demand for fish, which currently exceeds supply. By focusing on empowering local farmers and increasing output, the event underscores the state’s commitment to meeting the growing fish demand and promoting sustainable industry growth.
Sudhangshu Das, Tripura’s Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Animal Resource Development, and Fisheries, spoke to ANI, emphasizing the government’s goal to assist as many individuals as possible through these initiatives. “This is the third time we have organized the state-level Fish Festival in Tripura. Our primary objective is to encourage local fish farmers to enhance their efforts in the fisheries sector, allowing for greater participation. Through this festival, we aim to support as many people as we can. Many have taken part, and while our state’s fish production is significant, it still falls short of demand. We are actively working to address this issue to increase production and meet the needs of our population,” Das stated.
Additionally, during the oath-taking ceremony for Agartala’s Government Nursing College at the IGM Hospital Complex, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha mentioned that the state government is prioritizing the strengthening of the healthcare system. He highlighted the initiative to establish a health hub, as per a statement from the CM’s office. “The state government is focused on enhancing the health system in Tripura by building a health hub. To improve health services, it is essential for nurses to foster a good rapport with patients’ families while delivering care,” CM Saha remarked.
