New Delhi: A double murder has been reported in the Tilak Nagar area of West Delhi, where two friends died following a knife attack late Friday night. The incident took place in the Khyala B Block locality. Initial investigations suggest that a heated argument between the two friends led to one of them attacking the other with a knife. Both Sandeep and Arif died at the scene from their injuries.
Police from Khyala and Tilak Nagar swiftly responded to the incident, sending the bodies to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and further inquiries are ongoing, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of West Delhi.
In another incident, Delhi police on Sunday traced the source of broken glass pieces and detained an e-rickshaw driver, a day after concerns were raised by political leaders about glass shards scattered along the Kanwar Yatra route in Shahdara District’s Dilshad Garden.
An FIR was filed at PS Seemapuri based on a complaint from a Junior Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD), after a viral video showed broken glass on the street near Chintamani Chowk. The police said the glass fragments came from a shattered e-rickshaw that was carrying 19 glass panels from Shalimar Garden, UP, to Seelampur. The driver, Kusum Pal, has been identified and detained for questioning.
According to police investigations, the rickshaw was hit from behind, causing the glass panels to crack and fall over a distance. Further investigations are ongoing.
