Two Naxals killed in encounter with security forces, 1 DRG personnel laid down

In related developments, last week, 17 Naxalites surrendered in Bijapur district, as confirmed by a police officer. Bijapur Superintendent of Police (SP) Jitendra Kumar Yadav informed the press that these individuals were actively involved in various roles within the Gangaloor area committee of the banned Maoist organization.

Earlier in February, 18 Naxalites were arrested, and explosives were seized in an operation conducted by security forces across three different locations in the Bijapur district. Ten were arrested from the forests near Gunjeperti in the Usur police station area, while seven others were detained in the forests of Rajpenta in the Basaguda police station area. Additionally, a joint operation by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bhairamgarh Police resulted in the capture of one Maoist with explosives.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to present the master plan for Bastar’s development. The plan focuses on transforming Naxal-affected regions into hubs for infrastructure, industries, and tourism. CM Sai shared that Naxalism in Chhattisgarh is in its final stages, highlighting the significant progress made with coordinated security efforts and public involvement. The state government aims to establish Bastar as a new industrial and economic hub, creating jobs and improving the living standards of the tribal communities.
