New Delhi: Ghaziabad Police have apprehended two suspected cow smugglers during an encounter in the Tronica City area, as confirmed by officials on Friday. A coordinated effort involving the SWAT team, Rural DCP, and local police resulted in their capture after a brief pursuit. The suspects were shot in the leg during the exchange of gunfire before being subdued and arrested.

The individuals have been named as Sajid, also known as Sadua, and Bajju, or Wajahat, both of whom are wanted in connection with multiple cow slaughter cases. Sajid had a bounty of Rs 25,000 related to a cow slaughter case in Amroha, while Bajju’s bounty was Rs 15,000 for similar charges.

Police recovered illegal firearms, knives, ropes, and other slaughter-related tools from the suspects during the operation. Investigators have also connected them to a recent incident involving the discovery of four bovine carcasses found in plastic bags dumped in a sewer pit in Tronica City.

Authorities believe the duo is part of an organized gang that operates throughout the Delhi-NCR region, including Ghaziabad, Noida, Sambhal, and Amroha. Their method involved stealing cows using a Honda City car, transporting them to Delhi for slaughter, and disposing of the remains in Tronica City to avoid detection.

According to police records, both suspects have numerous criminal charges against them, including violations of the Gangster Act, the Arms Act, cow slaughter laws, theft, and attempted murder. Investigations are underway to uncover their broader network and any other crimes they may be involved with.

Additionally, two of their accomplices were arrested just two days prior in another encounter, highlighting the organized nature of this gang involved in cow smuggling and illegal slaughter activities. Investigators are continuing their efforts to identify other members of the group and dismantle the entire operation.
