Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognizing the construction workers who built the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Speaking at the annual World Hindu Economic Forum conference in Mumbai, he emphasized the respect the current Bharatiya Janata Party government shows for laborers, contrasting it with historical injustices faced by workers who constructed the Taj Mahal, whose hands were reportedly chopped off.

Adityanath criticized the Opposition for their impeachment motions against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and Allahabad High Court Judge Shekhar Kumar Yadav, suggesting that such actions threaten those who speak the truth. He defended the need for a Uniform Civil Code, arguing that it should reflect the majority community’s sentiments, and accused the Congress party of undermining the Constitution.

He remarked that the Prime Minister honored the Ram Temple workers in a ceremony on January 22, highlighting the government’s commitment to labor rights and protection, unlike past rulers who oppressed workers in the textile industry. Adityanath also noted India’s historical economic significance, claiming that between the first and fifteenth centuries, the country held over 40% of the global economy. He concluded by crediting Modi for helping India overcome an “identity crisis” and for fostering a vision of a “New India.”
