Stampede in Bhole Baba Satsang in Hathras Uttar Pradesh, Death toll crosses 120, Policeman dies of heart attack after seeing the dead bodies

The deceased are residents of Hathras and Etah.

Hathras (Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh Hathras 122 devotees has been died and near about 150 injured in stempede during the Bhole Baba Religious Function on Tuesday. Although the administration declare 27 died yet. The death toll may increase.

When the bodies arrived one after another in Etah, on duty constable Rajneesh (30) got a heart attack after seeing the pile of bodies in the medical college. His colleagues took him to the doctor. He was declared dead there. Most of the dead are from Hathras, Badaun, and other districts of West UP.

While the district magistrate Ashish confirmed the more than 80 deaths.

Speaking to media DM Ashish added that District administration is investigating the matter. The injured are being taken to the hospital and people are still being recovered. A figure of nearly 50-60 deaths has been reported to me by the doctors. Permission for the event to be held was given by the SDM and it was a private event. A high-level committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The primary focus of the administration is to provide all possible help to the injured and kin of the deceased.”

Police officials said that the stampede apparently occurred due to overcrowding. Twenty-seven bodies have arrived in Etah hospital. Among those killed are 23 women, three children and a man. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the stampede. He instructed officials to reach the accident site and carry out relief measures.

According to the information, there was a stampede in the satsang of Bhole Baba going on in Fullerai village in the Sikandrarao police station area of Hathras district. During this time, many devotees died. The dead bodies of the deceased have been taken to Etah Medical College.

The deceased are residents of Hathras and Etah. The injured were taken to Aligarh and Etah. DM Ashish Kumar and SP Nipun Agarwal have left for the spot.

So far, 25 bodies have been brought to the Etah post-mortem house. Maximum deceased are women and a children. The incident spot is on the border with Etah Sikandrarao.

Saroj Lata, wife of Ramdas, a resident of Mohalla Vangaon in Etah city, has also died. The condition of the son and daughter-in-law is critical.

The CMO of Hathras has confirmed the deaths of 27 people in the accident, including 25 women and two men.
