Dehradun, June 28: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand today. The Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert regarding heavy rain in some parts of Dehradun and Nainital districts.
While a heavy rain warning has been issued in some areas of Bageshwar district, an orange alert has been issued here. Apart from that, heavy rain with thunder has been predicted in other districts of the state as well.
Rain warning on 29 and 30 June
Meteorological Department Director Vikram Singh said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms at most places in all the districts of the state on June 29 and 30.
While there is a possibility of heavy rain in some places in the Bageshwar and Nainital districts of the state. For this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert.
He also informed that there is a forecast of rain at some places in Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts.
CM Dhami appealed
Chief Minister Dhami said that the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in the hilly and some plain areas of the state in the next 24 hours. All of you are requested to be alert, avoid unnecessary travel and follow the guidelines issued by the administration.
In view of the PCS exam to be held on June 29, the CM has appealed to the candidates to leave for their examination center well in advance considering the weather conditions. Both your safety and the exam are important to us. The state government is monitoring the situation and all necessary assistance is being provided to the local administration.
