Dehradun, May 2: A period of heavy rain has started in Uttarakhand today. Light drizzle started in the capital, Dehradun and surrounding areas since morning. After this, a period of heavy rain started. Children are also facing a lot of problems in going to school in the morning. However, due to rain, a huge drop in temperature has been recorded. Due to which people have got relief from the heat.
Actually, the Meteorological Department had predicted a change in the weather in Uttarakhand from the night of May 1. After which, rain continues in different parts of the state.
Heavy rains are continuing in many districts of Uttarakhand, including the capital, Dehradun. While the rain has given relief to people from the heat, the troubles have increased once again in the mountainous areas.
The weather department has issued an orange alert for rain, thunderstorms and hailstorms. Meteorologists have predicted a change in the weather across the state by the 5th.
During this period, hailstorms along with rain and strong winds are expected in most parts of the state. The weather may clear after May 5.
Vikram Singh, director of Dehradun Meteorological Centre, said- Due to the activation of Western disturbance, changes are being seen in the weather. Due to which rain, strong winds and lightning will continue till the 5th in the entire state. Due to which people’s problems may increase.
He said- People need to be cautious at this time. Especially, the pilgrims coming for the pilgrimage should come with full preparation. Due to a change in weather, cold may return in the mountainous areas.
In such a situation, leave home only after taking warm clothes and information about the weather. Especially those going on the Chardham Yatra must take information about the weather there.
