In this landslide, the roads have been closed due to falling rocks and debris. Due to the landslide, thousands of pilgrims are stranded on the Yatra route between Ban Ganga and Langar Hall. The Shrine Board is engaged in controlling the situation and clearing the road.
The landslide occurred at around 8.50 am
Officials said the landslide was caused by heavy rains in Katra town. The landslide occurred at around 8.50 am at Gulshan ka Langar near Banganga. This is the starting point of the Yatra.
Rescue operations launched immediately
Officials said rescue operations were launched immediately after the landslide and four stranded pilgrims were rescued and rushed to a hospital. Rescue operations were underway when last reports were received.
