Water crisis prevails in New Delhi; Minister Atishi to go on indefinite hunger strike

Through a post on X, she announced that she will remain on fast until the people of Delhi get the rightful share of water.

New Delhi: AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi will begin her indefinite hunger strike today. Her action is in response to the Water shortage situation in the National Capital. Through a post on X, she announced that she will remain on fast until the people of Delhi get the rightful share of water.

Atishi said that today 28 lakh Delhiites are not getting water. She added that despite every possible efforts of the government, the Haryana govt is not giving a complete share of water to Delhi.

She wrote, “Even today 28 lakh Delhiites are not getting water. Despite every possible effort, the Haryana government is not providing full water to Delhi. Mahatma Gandhi has taught that if one has to fight against injustice, one must adopt the path of Satyagraha.”

Terming her hunger strike as ‘Water Satyagraha’, Atishi said that She will first pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi ji on Rajghat and later start an indefinite fast from 12 o’clock. She added that her fast will be there until people of Delhi get rightful share of water from Haryana.

Atishi wrote, “I will start ‘Water Satyagraha’ from today. I will go to Raj Ghat at 11 am and pay tribute to Gandhiji. I will start an indefinite fast at Bhogal, Jangpura from 12 o’clock. I will remain on fast until the people of Delhi get their rightful share of water from Haryana.”
