The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has imposed a ban on six entities, including financial influencer Asmita Patel, preventing them from participating in capital markets. This action follows allegations of operating unregistered investment advisory services.

Asmita Patel, her company Asmita Patel Global School of Trading Pvt Ltd (APGSOT), and other entities like Jitesh Jethalal Patel, King Traders, Gemini Enterprise, and United Enterprises, have been instructed to refund over Rs 53 crore in fees collected from course participants.

SEBI began its investigation after receiving complaints from 42 investors who accused APGSOT of engaging in unauthorized advisory activities. The complainants also claimed that Ms. Patel owns assets worth Rs 140 crore through her proprietary system. SEBI’s 129-page order details the violations and bars the accused from participating in the securities market.
