Double trouble in Rajasthan: Heatwave during day; destructive storms at night

According to weather experts, the state is expected to experience humid heat for the next few days. However, people will get relief from May 30.

After the heat during the day, there was a storm and rain in some places of Udaipur, Jodhpur, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara. Houses have suffered a lot due to the storm and rain in Mount Abu (Sirohi), Barmer and Jaisalmer. In the hill station Abu, the power was also cut off for about 7 hours.

The temperature in Bikaner reached 44.8 degrees

During the last 24 hours, Bikaner was the hottest place where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44.8 degrees Celsius. Phalodi recorded 44.6 degrees, Jaisalmer 44.2 degrees, Barmer 44.4 degrees, Ganganagar 44 degrees, Churu 43.4 degrees and Jodhpur 42.9 degrees. Meanwhile, Dausa recorded 42.1 degrees, Bhilwara 42.5 degrees and Kota 42.7 degrees Celsius.

Apart from these cities, other cities also experienced heat and humidity throughout the day. The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 41.8 degrees Celsius in the capital Jaipur. There were light clouds and sunshine in the sky during the day here.

Weather changed in Mount Abu, thunderstorm and rain

  • There was heavy rain accompanied by a thunderstorm in Mount Abu at 10.30 pm on Wednesday night. Wind blew at a speed of about 50 to 60 km per hour.
  • Many big and small trees were uprooted in the city. Nearly 15-20 electricity wires were broken near St. Mary’s Road, Polo Area, Delwara, Oriya, Sunset Road and Nakki.
  • One and a half inch of rain was recorded in two and a half hours. Due to the rain, electricity was disrupted in many areas of the city for more than 7 hours.

Water filled in the desert areas of Jaisalmer

After the change in weather in the rural areas of Jaisalmer on Wednesday, there was a strong storm first. Then it rained. Late night, due to the strong storm in Mohangarh area, electric poles and trees fell down at many places in the town. In Bharewala of Nachana area, a person was injured when the tin shed of a house flew away and an iron angle fell on him. At the same time, light clouds have been seen since Thursday morning.

The roofs and tin sheds of houses were blown away by the storm in Barmer

Storm hit Raikon Dhani Kagau in Barmer on Wednesday evening. The thatched roofs and tin sheds of more than half a dozen houses were blown away. Brick walls collapsed. A large amount of household goods including grains and bedding were also damaged. Due to the collapse of kutcha houses, many families were forced to live under the open sky. Due to the collapse of electric poles, power was cut off in rural areas.
