Young woman killed, 4 others injured as bus hits bikers waiting at red signal in Bhopal

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of TT Nagar Police Station. The bikers had halted at the red signal.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of TT Nagar Police Station. The bikers had halted at the red signal when a bus approaching from behind rammed into them. The bus then dragged several bikes some distance, resulting in the woman’s death and injuries to four others.

On receiving the distress call, police officials arrived on the scene, transported the injured to the district hospital, and sent the body to Hamidia Hospital for post-mortem. The police noted that the bus driver fled immediately after the accident, leaving the vehicle at the scene.

TT Nagar police station in-charge Sudheer Arjariya told ANI, “A yellow bus heading towards Pital Mandir from Roshanpura likely lost control and hit vehicles stopped at the red light at Banganga Square. First, it struck a white car and then rammed into two or three motorcycles. The bikes were dragged some distance, leading to the death of a young woman and injuries to others. About four to five people have sustained injuries so far.”

The police have launched further investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
