CM Mann Should Use Personal Funds, Not Taxpayer Money, for Giveaways, Says Navjot Sidhu

Chandigarh: Navjot Kaur Sidhu on Sunday took to Twitter to publicly question Bhagwant Mann regarding the source of funds used for public giveaways in Punjab.

Sidhu criticised the timing of such distributions, highlighting concerns over state loans, accountability, and transparency of the Chief Minister’s personal finances.

Criticism Over Use of Public Funds

Sidhu argued that CM Mann should only use personal funds for giveaways and not money from taxpayers. She emphasised that distributing public money close to elections raises concerns about financial responsibility and governance.

She questioned the amount of loans Punjab has taken under Mann’s administration and how much has been repaid. She reminded the government that the current repayment timeline is set to expire in February 2027.

Sidhu also highlighted the need for employment generation, particularly for women, asking how many jobs have been provided since Mann assumed office.

Demand for Personal Financial Transparency

The politician demanded that CM Mann disclose his family’s bank statements, details of land purchases abroad (in Australia), and jewellery acquisitions, asking for verification by income tax authorities.
