Nawazuddin Siddiqui Says Real World Scares Me, Prefers Film

MUMBAI, Dec 12, 2025 — Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently shared candid insights into his approach to life and acting, saying that the “real world scares me” and he prefers to stay immersed in the world of cinema while shooting for a film. The comments came during a conversation with IANS about his experiences portraying intense characters.

    Enjoys Intensity of Film Characters

Siddiqui, known for his powerful performances, revealed that when he takes on demanding roles such as Jatil Yadav in Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders he fully embraces the character and the film’s environment for the duration of the shoot. “Sometimes the real world scares me more, so I run away from it. I enjoy living in the film’s bubble… till the shoot is on,” he said.

The actor admitted that switching off after intense scenes isn’t easy for him: he stays connected to the character even off‑camera, explaining that the role occupies his thoughts throughout the shooting period.

Challenges of Breaking Out of Character

When asked how difficult it was to detach from a psychologically immersive role once filming wrapped, Siddiqui said he isn’t the kind of actor who can instantly “switch off.” He even confessed that he doesn’t really want to do that, preferring to remain connected to the character’s mindset during the making of the film.

    Co‑Star on Intensity of Shoot

Co‑star Chitrangada Singh, who worked with him in Raat Akeli Hai, echoed the intensity of the experience. She explained that staying in an emotionally deep zone on set made it difficult to immediately transition back to everyday life. Singh said she used music to help shift emotional gears but acknowledged that the emotional depth and energy required for such projects can be demanding.
