Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Tannu in Chandigarh on Friday. While described as a courtesy call, the reports indicate that the meeting covered various administrative and developmental issues concerning Haryana, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The ongoing water crisis in Delhi was also discussed; Haryana is currently supplying 1,000 cusecs of water to Delhi, providing significant relief amidst the city’s water shortage.
According to sources, key topics discussed included rapid urbanization, infrastructure development, water management, e-governance and the improvement in citizen services.

Discussion on Delhi’s growing urbanization
The Haryana government is already working on ‘Vision 2047,’ urban infrastructure expansion, and technology-driven administrative reforms, while the Delhi administration is also focusing on enhancing urban services and administrative efficiency.
The meeting is also expected to have discussions on improving coordination between the state and Union Territory, investment, issues relating to transport networks and regional development.
Delhi-Haryana cooperation at a higher level
In the recent months Chief Minister Nayab Saini has been actively participating in the high level meetings on various inter-state matters especially the matters relating to water resources, investment and infrastructure projects.
Political observers view this meeting as a significant step towards fostering greater cooperation between the Haryana and Delhi administrations. Although no detailed official statement was issued following the meeting, it is being seen as an initiative to strengthen dialogue and coordination between the two administrative entities.
