Kurukshetra: Chief Minister Nayab Saini is visiting Kurukshetra today. He will launch a state-wide free HPV vaccination campaign to prevent cervical cancer in his Ladwa constituency. This campaign will protect adolescent girls from cervical cancer. Prior to this, the Chief Minister will inaugurate a two-day agricultural development fair.
Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women, caused primarily by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The HPV vaccine prevents this infection and significantly reduces the risk of cancer. This campaign will vaccinate adolescent girls over the age of 14 and adolescent girls under the age of 15.
Vaccination Only After Parental Consent
Before vaccination, parents’ written consent will be obtained via OTP. After vaccination, a link will be sent to the registered mobile number, allowing downloading of a digital certificate. This special campaign will run for three months. Vaccinations will take place at district hospitals, community and primary health centers, as well as schools.
