New Delhi: National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) Vice Chairman Hardeep Singh Gill has recommended the registration of an FIR against Congress spokesperson Deepak Jha following a complaint alleging that his remarks on Maharishi Valmiki hurt the religious sentiments of the Valmiki and Hindu communities.

The complaint was submitted by Sanjay Valmiki, National President of the National Valmiki Shakti Mahasangh, during a meeting with Gill in New Delhi. He alleged that the Congress spokesperson made objectionable remarks about Maharishi Valmiki, which he claimed were disrespectful, offensive to religious beliefs, and capable of creating social discord.
Acting on the complaint, Gill recommended that the Delhi Police Commissioner take immediate legal action and register an FIR against Deepak Jha in accordance with the law.
According to the complaint, the alleged remarks not only hurt the sentiments of the Valmiki and Hindu communities but also violated public decorum and warranted action under the relevant provisions of law.
Responding to the complaint, Hardeep Gill said that no individual or political leader should be allowed to hurt the religious sentiments of any community. He added that the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis would support appropriate legal action in such matters.
