Punjabi Singer Neeraj Sahni receives Rs 1.25 Crore extortion threat from Terrorist Rinda

Mohali: Punjabi singer, actor, and producer Neeraj Sahni received a threatening call from terrorist Harvinder Rinda, who is hiding in Pakistan. The call demanded a ransom of ₹1.25 crore (approximately $1.25 million). He threatened to kill him and his family if he failed to pay the money.

Neeraj Sahni has filed a written complaint with the Mohali police regarding this matter. He has requested police protection for himself and his family. Neeraj has also submitted all evidence related to the call to the police.

Singer filed a police complaint

In complaint, he stated that he lives in Sector 88, Mohali, while his company is located in Sector 75. On October 6th, he received a video call at 3:20 p.m. The caller identified himself as terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda. He told him he needed to arrange ₹12 million (12 million rupees). He threatened to kill him and his family if he failed to arrange the payment.

According to the singer, the accused said that the money had to be given to Dilpreet.

He also called another person on a video call and said that the money had to be given to him. Rinda also threatened to kill his family. The person claiming to be Rinda also said that he had links with Pakistani terrorists. “We have all the information about you. We will attack your house. You will receive calls from my fellow gangster Baba and people from the Rinda group.”

This isn’t the first case

Actually, this is not the first case of extortion in Mohali. Previously, the owner of a pharmaceutical company was asked for money. Subsequently, a property dealer in Sohana was threatened. The owner of an IT company was also asked for money, but the police arrested the accused in that case. A similar audio call was received 11 days ago. A case was registered at the Sohana police station in that matter.

Who is terrorist Rinda? Harvinder Singh Rinda plays an active role in pro-Khalistan activities and has formed a new terrorist network in collaboration with the US-based “Happy Pasia.” Rumors of his death circulated in 2022, suggesting he died of kidney failure or a drug overdose, but these were not confirmed. He is still hiding in Lahore, Pakistan, and the Indian government and Interpol are continuing efforts to arrest him.
