High-Level Meeting at Rajnath Singh’s Residence Over NEET Exam Row

A high-level meeting is underway at the residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday regarding the NEET issue. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Jyotiraditya Scindia, NTA DG Abhishek Singh, and senior officials from the PMO are also present at this meeting.

Meanwhile, after the exam was canceled, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline to submit bank account details for fee refunds to June 22 at 11:50 PM. The previous deadline was May 27.

Candidates will need to log in using their credentials to access the refund link and submit their bank account details.

The NEET exam was conducted on May 3 in 551 cities in India and 14 abroad, involving over 2.2 million students. It was canceled on May 12 following a paper leak.

Rahul Gandhi met the family of a student who committed suicide

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met the family of Pradeep Meghwal, a student preparing for NEET, on Wednesday. Pradeep had committed suicide after the ‘question bank’ of the exam was leaked. Rahul accused the central government of mismanagement and said that the Modi-pradhan duo is responsible for this family.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote that Pradeep’s death is not a suicide, but the result of a broken, corrupt system. Those who have handed over the examination system to mafias and are still clinging to their chairs, the Modi-pradhan duo is accountable to this family.

Accused on 5-day CBI remand

Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday sent Dr. Manoj Shirure and Tejas Harshad Kumar Shah to CBI custody until June 1 in connection with the NEET UG paper leak case. Special Judge Vidya Prakash also sent Prahlad Kulkarni and Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar to judicial custody until June 10.

So far, the CBI has conducted searches at 49 locations in different places and seized several important documents, laptops, and mobile phones. A total of 13 people have been arrested in this case so far.

Exam held on May 3 canceled on May 12

The NEET-UG exam was held on May 3 in 551 cities across the country and 14 centers abroad. About 2.3 million candidates participated in it. According to the NTA, on the evening of May 7, reports of irregularities in the exam were received. After this, the matter was handed over to central agencies. On May 12, the exam was canceled and a re-exam was decided.
