FORDA Seeks Fast-Track Justice, Speedy Re-Exam After NEET-UG Paper Leak

New Delhi: The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination amid allegations of a paper leak, demanding strict legal action and an immediate re-examination under Supreme Court supervision.

In a letter dated May 13, FORDA described the incident as a “moral and institutional catastrophe” that has impacted nearly 23 lakh medical aspirants and their families across the country.

FORDA Demands Strict Action Against Culprits

The association put forward a five-point demand, seeking exemplary punishment for all those allegedly involved in the paper leak, including paper setters, printing agency officials, and coaching institute operators.

FORDA demanded that the accused face non-bailable charges along with forfeiture of assets. It also called for the establishment of a fast-track court to resolve examination fraud cases within three months.

The doctors’ body further urged the Centre to enact a stringent national law treating exam paper leaks as cognisable and non-bailable offences with mandatory minimum punishment.

Push for Computer-Based NEET Exam

FORDA also advocated shifting NEET-UG from the current pen-and-paper format to a secure computer-based testing system similar to IIT-JEE examinations.

According to the association, the existing format remains vulnerable to organised fraud networks and requires urgent reform to restore credibility and transparency in the examination process.

Demand for Transparent Re-Examination

The association demanded a speedy re-examination under the supervision of the Supreme Court of India with enhanced transparency and security measures to protect students’ academic futures.

FORDA stated that many aspirants and their families had invested years of preparation, financial resources, and emotional effort, only to face uncertainty due to the alleged leak.

The association also highlighted the financial burden on economically weaker families who spent heavily on coaching, travel, and accommodation for the examination.

FORDA urged the Prime Minister’s Office to take immediate action to ensure accountability and restore public confidence in India’s premier medical entrance examination system.
