    Devotion Marks New Year 2026 as Golden Temple Sees Massive Influx of Devotees

    Amritsar: On the auspicious occasion of New Year 2026, a remarkable display of faith and devotion was witnessed at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, the supreme Sikh shrine. With the start of the new year, millions of devotees from India and abroad arrived to pay obeisance at the Gurudwara.

    Long queues of devotees had begun forming around Darbar Sahib since last night.

    Despite the bitter cold and dense fog, the Sangat’s enthusiasm remained unabated. As the New Year 2026 arrived at 12 midnight, chants of “Waheguru” echoed throughout the complex. Devotees bowed down in prayer at the Gurudwara and prayed for the welfare of all, peace, prosperity, and prosperity.

    Holy Dip in Sarovar Marks New Beginnings

    Devotees took a holy dip in the sacred sarovar, bowed down at Sri Harmandir Sahib, and received the Guru’s blessings. The Sangat says that beginning the new year in the presence of Guru Sahib brings them spiritual peace and a new direction in life.

    Political Leaders and Social Figures Join Congregation

    On this occasion, along with the general congregation, many political and social personalities also reached the Gurudwara to pay their respects.

    Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bathinda MP Bibi Harsimrat Kaur Badal bowed their heads at Sachkhand Sri Harimandir Sahib and prayed to Waheguru for peace and harmony in the country and the state.

    Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla also joined the congregation in the Ardaas. Along with this, artists associated with the Punjabi film industry and people from various sections of the society also reached the Gurudwara to pay their respects.

    SGPC Makes Extensive Arrangements for Devotees

    Special arrangements were made by the administration and the SGPC for the convenience of the devotees. Security was tight, langar services continued around the clock in the langar halls, and special attention was paid to cleanliness, water supply, and medical facilities.

    Overall, the New Year 2026 witnessed a unique example of devotion, service, and brotherhood at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.
