Newborn abandoned in Hamirpur sent to Shimla

Hamirpur: The District Child Protection Committee has taken a major decision in the case of a newborn girl found at Medical College Hamirpur on March 23rd. After the parents refused to care for her, the girl was sent to the Child Protection Center in Tutikandi, Shimla. She will now be raised there.

Better Care and Adoption Process Begins
At the Child Protection Center, a team of doctors and caretakers will take special care of the girl’s health, nutrition, and safety. She will also be prepared for adoption through legal procedures. The girl will remain at the center until a suitable family is found.

Family fled after leaving the baby at the hospital after birth
According to information, the couple fled after abandoning the baby at the hospital on March 23rd, just hours after the delivery. The baby subsequently developed an infection and was sent to Tanda Medical College for treatment. After treatment, she was brought back to Hamirpur, where, during the investigation, her family refused to accept responsibility for her.

Health improving, now cared for in a safe environment
The baby girl weighed 1600 grams at birth and has grown to over 2 kg in 18 days. Currently, the baby is healthy and the infection has cleared. She is now receiving complete care in a safe environment.
