NIA Takes Over Investigation of Foiled ISI Terror Plot in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has now entered the investigation into the recent ISI terror plot foiled by police in Ludhiana, Punjab. Police arrested 10 suspects linked to Pakistan’s ISI in this case.

Senior officials from the central agency visited the city to exchange information about the terror plot and the international connections involved in the case. The officials also praised the Ludhiana police for cracking the hand grenade case.

NIA took information about the case from the officials

A senior police officer said that a team of NIA, led by a DSP rank officer, along with other officials of the agency visited the city on Friday and gathered information about the entire terror plot and the role of foreign handlers.

The ACP-rank officer was met by NIA officials, who told him that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), through its foreign handlers, had planned to carry out a grenade attack in a densely populated area of ​​Ludhiana, but the perpetrators were arrested. The ISI had assigned this task to some suspicious youths.

Agency officials gathered information about the ten arrested suspects and their foreign handlers. These foreign handlers are now on the NIA’s radar.

The team will investigate the foreign relations thoroughly.

A senior police officer said that ISI agents Ajay Malaysia, Jass Behbal, and Pawandeep are working to spread terror in Punjab. Therefore, the NIA’s intervention in this case was necessary. The agency may now launch its own investigation and will thoroughly examine the foreign connections.

The agency will have more resources and may also begin negotiations with its counterparts in foreign countries. However, the Ludhiana police investigation will continue, and the city police have already gathered important clues about other suspects who are also in contact with ISI agents.

It is noteworthy that in this case, police arrested ten people, including six brought from various jails in Faridkot and Ganganagar. Police also recovered several social media profiles of the suspects, through which they were communicating with foreign ISI handlers.
