Ambala: In a major step towards strengthening infrastructure in Punjab, a 6-lane, access-controlled Greenfield Spur project has been approved at a cost of ₹1,463.95 crore. This project will connect the Ambala-Chandigarh section (NH-205A) with the Zirakpur Bypass.
Gadkari Approves Project
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has approved this important project. This project is being undertaken with the aim of reducing traffic congestion in the Tricity region.
Relief from Traffic Jams in the Tricity
This corridor, being built under the Tricity Ring Road Project, will reduce traffic congestion at major urban junctions in Mohali, Chandigarh, and Panchkula. It will provide an alternative route for heavy vehicles passing through the cities.
Pressure on NH-44 and other highways will be reduced
This new route will reduce heavy traffic on NH-44, NH-205A, and NH-152. This will also make travel to Himachal Pradesh, especially the Shimla region, faster and smoother.
Boost to the regional economy
Faster connectivity will reduce travel time and promote trade and tourism between Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal, strengthening regional economic integration
