Patna: BJP national president Nitin Nabin arrived in Patna on Tuesday. Party leaders and workers welcomed him at the airport during his two-day visit to the state.
The visit comes amid preparations for the Bihar Legislative Council elections to eight seats, scheduled for October 23. The Election Commission has fixed October 6 as the last date for filing nominations, with scrutiny scheduled for October 7 and counting of votes on October 27.
Nabin’s visit is expected to focus on both organisational matters and preparations for the upcoming Council elections. During his stay in Patna, Nabin is expected to hold meetings with senior party leaders and NDA functionaries.
Focus On Alliance Coordination And Election Strategy
Discussions are likely to focus on preparations for the eight Council seats, coordination among alliance candidates and workers, and constituency-level election strategy.
The BJP leadership is also expected to review organisational preparedness and coordination ahead of polling. Nabin is scheduled to interact with BJP workers from the Bankipur Assembly constituency as part of his visit.
The meetings are likely to focus on strengthening the party organisation and discussing local political and organisational issues. The Patna Graduates’ constituency is among the seats attracting considerable attention in the current Council election.
Neeraj Kumar-Anuj Kumar Singh Contest Draws Attention
JD(U) has fielded sitting MLC Neeraj Kumar, while Jan Suraaj has nominated Anuj Kumar Singh. The contest has gained additional attention following former Mokama MLA Anant Singh’s decision to support Anuj Kumar Singh. Singh has also been campaigning in the constituency in support of the Jan Suraaj candidate.
The development has added a political dimension to the contest between Neeraj Kumar and Anuj Kumar Singh, particularly amid differences between Neeraj Kumar and Anant Singh within the NDA camp.
With nominations for the eight Council seats concluding on Tuesday, political parties and alliances are now expected to shift their focus towards campaigning and voter outreach.
The BJP leadership is also expected to assess coordination with NDA partners as the alliance seeks to consolidate its campaign ahead of the October 23 polling.
