New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Sunday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for building a vibrant and self-reliant space ecosystem in India, saying the country’s youth and startups are being encouraged to innovate and compete globally.
Nabin, in a message on X on the occasion of National Space Day, said a stable and forward-looking policy environment was helping young Indians take risks and contribute to the country’s growing space sector.

Nabin highlights India’s space ambitions
Nabin said India was building a self-reliant space ecosystem in which the aspirations of young people could help strengthen the country’s position among the world’s leading space powers.
He also linked the development of the space sector with the broader vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, saying innovation and bold policy were opening new frontiers for India.
In another message, Nabin congratulated people on National Space Day and highlighted India’s journey from Earth to the Moon and beyond.
Chandrayaan-3 milestone recalled
Nabin recalled the historic achievement of Chandrayaan-3, which successfully soft-landed near the Moon’s south polar region.
India became the first country to achieve a soft landing in the Moon’s south polar region, with the landing site named Shiv Shakti Point.
He described the achievement as a symbol of India’s scientific capabilities and the vision, dedication and innovative spirit of the country’s scientists.
Nabin said India continues to create milestones in space science and technology and is working towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat while strengthening its position in the global space sector.

The National Space Day 2026 celebrations are being held under the theme “Towards Viksit Bharat: Innovating, Collaborating and Aspiring to Global Space Leadership.”
The theme reflects India’s ambition to strengthen its scientific and technological capabilities while promoting innovation, collaboration and greater participation in the global space ecosystem.
