Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday held key discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi focusing on various development projects and priority initiatives for Bihar. The meeting comes on the heels of Kumar’s first visit to the national capital after being sworn in for his latest term, underscoring the importance of Centre-state coordination for the state’s growth agenda.

Officials said the discussions with the Home Minister revolved around accelerating development works, securing additional support from the Union Government, and ensuring smooth implementation of major infrastructure and social welfare schemes flagged by the state government.

Focus on Key Development Schemes

During the meeting, Nitish Kumar highlighted the need to fast-track a range of flagship projects across sectors including infrastructure, education, health and employment generation. While specific project approvals are expected to follow, sources say the two leaders exchanged views on bolstering investment flows and administrative support to ensure timely execution of commitments made to the people of Bihar.

Bihar has also recently unveiled its “Saat Nischay 3.0” development roadmap, aimed at transforming the socio-economic landscape of the state through upgraded infrastructure, enhanced public services and improved access to opportunities for youth and rural populations.

Political observers say the meeting gains significance as it reflects the ongoing cooperation between the state government — led by Janata Dal (United) — and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union Government under the NDA framework.
