Union Minister Nityanand Rai Targets Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar Election Campaign

Patna: As Bihar gears up for elections, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai launched a sharp attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday, calling him “corrupt, nepotistic, and a plunderer.”

Allegations of Corruption and Misrule

Rai accused the RJD and its leadership of looting Bihar and exploiting the poor during their previous regimes.

“During their rule, there was a scam even for the milk meant for children. The RJD government snatched the rights of the poor through the fodder scam — and people still remember it,” he alleged.

He further claimed that Tejashwi repeatedly misleads the public with false promises and warned that “his chapter will be completely wiped out” in the upcoming elections.

NDA’s Achievements Highlighted

Rai praised the NDA government for putting Bihar and the nation on the path of development.

“The public can clearly see the difference between the corrupt past and today’s progress,” he said.

His comments came shortly after Tejashwi Yadav unveiled major poll promises, including the regularization of contractual employees and Jivika Didis, while criticizing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP.

Deputy CM and JD(U) Dismiss Tejashwi’s Promises

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary questioned Tejashwi’s credibility, highlighting his family’s 15-year rule and alleging corruption:

“He was the chancellor of ‘charwaha vidyalaya’ and was convicted in the fodder scam. He also snatched the lands of minorities and backward-class people through the land-for-job scam.”

JD(U) spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar dismissed Tejashwi’s announcements as misleading, noting that funds for outsourcing companies already reach employees directly, and 31 lakh Jivika Didis have become Lakhpatis under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, gaining social and economic empowerment.
