No person involved in illegal mining will be spared: CM Sukhu

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu made a detailed statement on the issue of illegal mining in the state in the Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.

The CM said that no person involved in illegal mining, no matter how influential he is, will be spared. The police and administration are investigating with complete impartiality and will continue to do so.

The strictest sections of the law will be applied against the culprits. Protecting the natural wealth of the state and the rights of the public is our top priority.

The CM informed the House that the police had received secret information that a stone crusher in Sujanpur area, which was officially shown closed in July last year, is actually actively engaged in illegal mining.

This crusher is linked to people at the local level, who have been considering themselves safe under the guise of influential relationships. On August 12, a police team led by the Additional Superintendent of Police conducted a raid.

Despite heavy rains and damaged roads, the team reached the spot and seized one Pokelin, two JCB machines, four tipper trucks, one mixer, around 50 tipper trucks loaded with mining material, DVR from the stone crusher premises and a tractor belonging to one Manveer Singh.
