Notice to Urdu University ‘unacceptable’, says MoS Bandi Sanjay

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday called the show-cause notice issued to Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) regarding the use of vacant land “shameful” and “unacceptable.”

He attacked the Congress government on the social media platform X, saying that if any attempt is made to take over the university’s land, he will stand with the students and launch a statewide agitation.

Bandi Sanjay wrote, “Targeting land allocated for the future of students is shameful. Issuing a land use notice to MANUU unacceptable. Is this the first step to selling land worth thousands of crores?”
He questioned why a government that has failed to provide basic amenities is now questioning land allocated for education. He also said that many government lands in the state are encroached upon, but no action is being taken against them.

Mention of campus linked to Owaisi, allegation of selective action

Bundi Sanjay asked why no action has been taken against alleged encroachments in the Salkam Cheruvu area of ​​the Old City. He cited the Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus, linked to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, which is accused of building in the full tank level (FTL) area of ​​the lake.
He said that instead of taking action in such cases, the government is targeting university land.

“Land of education is a red line,” warning of agitation

The Union Minister said, “Touching the land of the university and education is a red line. This is my clear warning. The Telangana government must withdraw any decision to acquire university land, otherwise I will stand with the students and launch a statewide agitation.”

BRS also supports, notice details

Following Bandi Sanjay, BRS Executive President K. T. Rama Rao also condemned the notice and said that his party would stand with the students to protect the university land.

According to reports, revenue officials have issued a show-cause notice to MANUU Registrar Ishtiaq Ahmed, seeking an explanation for the withdrawal of vacant land at the campus located in Manikonda village of Gandipet Mandal on the grounds that it was not being used for its allotted purpose.
