Panipat Police’s big success: Notorious criminal Shilu Dahar arrested from Delhi airport

In a major operation, Panipat police arrested notorious gangster Shilu Dahar late last night from Delhi Airport. Shilu is facing charges of extortion and murder, and he used his shooters to orchestrate the crimes while based abroad.

According to police sources, Shilu Dahar masterminded at least three major crimes in Panipat and surrounding areas in January. These include extorting ₹1 crore from a sweetmeat merchant in Gur Mandi, Samalkha, and then firing indiscriminately at a shop, and fatally shooting a transporter, C. Subramaniam.

Shilu Dahar’s name emerged as the main accused in all these cases. He had been absconding for a long time and was controlling his gang from abroad. Through a meticulous and coordinated police operation, he was apprehended as soon as he landed at Delhi Airport.

A senior Panipat police official said that more than 10 criminal cases are registered against Sheelu, including attempt to murder, extortion, possession of illegal arms and organised crime.
