Nuh, Haryana: Three young men from Gurugram died and another was critically injured after their car rammed into a truck on National Highway 248A in Haryana’s Nuh district late Saturday night. The four were returning from an engagement ceremony in Ferozepur Jhirka when the accident occurred.
The collision was so severe that their Maruti Eeco became wedged underneath the truck near the Housing Board cut. The occupants remained trapped inside the mangled vehicle as police and local residents struggled to rescue them.
It took around three hours to pull the car out with the help of a JCB machine. Rescuers then had to cut open the vehicle’s doors to recover the occupants.
Three Youths Die, One Remains Critical
The deceased have been identified as Ravi, a resident of Gandhi Colony in Gurugram, and Anil and Vivek, both residents of Sohna. Ravi and Anil were brothers-in-law.
The four young men had travelled from Gurugram to attend the engagement ceremony of a relative. They were returning home when a speeding truck coming from the Alwar side collided with their car.
According to the details provided, three of the occupants died in the accident. The fourth, identified as Abhishek and also reported to be from Sohna, sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
JCB Called After Rescue Efforts Fail
Eyewitnesses said they heard a loud crash when the truck struck the Eeco. When they reached the spot, they found the front portion of the car stuck underneath the truck, with all four occupants trapped inside.
Police and local residents initially tried to pull the car free but could not move it. A JCB machine was subsequently brought to the scene to help separate the vehicles.
After nearly three hours of effort, the car was pulled out and the occupants were rescued. Police took all four to the hospital, where doctors declared three of them dead.
The truck driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene after the collision.
Police Seize Truck, Search for Driver
Kuldeep Singh, Station House Officer of Ferozepur Jhirka City, said police had taken custody of the three bodies and sent them to Al-Afia Hospital in Mandikhera for post-mortem examinations.
The truck involved in the accident has been seized. Police are searching for the driver, who remains absconding.
Further details about the circumstances leading to the collision are awaited.
