Old feud turns deadly: Uncle-Nephew shot dead by unknown assailants

In Kaithal, an old feud once again turned deadly. Rajendra, a 38-year-old resident of Pi village, and his 65-year-old uncle, Veer Bhan, were shot dead by unknown assailants. Police investigation revealed that the incident was an act of revenge stemming from an old rivalry connected to a double murder that occurred in 2012.

The incident began when Rajendra was traveling towards Pundri. Near Jathedi, assailants chased him down on the road and fired multiple shots at him. To save his life, Rajendra ran towards the fields, but the attackers pursued him and shot him dead there.

After this, the accused went directly to the village of Pai. There, they surrounded Veer Bhan, who was returning home after performing prayers on Amavasya (new moon day), either near his house or in a field, and shot him. Veer Bhan also died on the spot. The attackers fled after committing the crimes.

Eyewitness accounts and preliminary investigations suggest that these murders are the result of a long-standing feud stemming from a double murder over a land dispute in Pai village in 2012. The victims in that incident were from the accused’s side, and this appears to be an act of revenge. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene.

The Kaithal Superintendent of Police himself visited the crime scene and instructed the investigation team. The police have collected evidence from both locations and have intensified their search for the accused based on CCTV footage and other clues. There is an atmosphere of fear in the area, and villagers have demanded the swift arrest of the culprits.
