Open fire at Liquor shop in Amritsar leaves employee injured, case against four accused

A case of firing at a liquor shop in Chattiwind village, Amritsar, was reported late on the night of March 6th. Akashdeep Singh, alias Prince, who was working at the shop, was seriously injured by bullets and glass fragments. The injured man was immediately admitted to a nearby hospital and is undergoing treatment.

According to the police, complainant Gurnam Singh stated that on the night of March 6th, he was at his brother Bhagwan Singh’s house. A house away from Bhagwan Singh’s house is a liquor shop owned by Pragat Singh. At around 10:45 p.m., they heard gunshots at the iron gate.

Upon hearing the sound, both brothers exited and saw a vehicle passing by Adda Chattiwind. Manpreet Singh, alias Manna, a resident of Khairabad, was in the vehicle with two or three companions.

The accused fled the scene.

The complaint stated that after the vehicle stopped a short distance away, Manpreet Singh and his companions fired four or five rounds toward the shop and fled the scene. Akashdeep Singh, who was inside the shop, was hit by bullets and glass fragments during the firing.

The bullet shattered the shop’s glass and hit the wooden counter, injuring Akashdeep in the stomach and left hand. The complainant stated that the accused, Manpreet Singh, had served as a Granthi at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Bagh in the village of Chatiwind about two years ago and lived there with his family.

There had been a feud between the two parties for some time, which led to this incident. Police have registered a case against four accused, including Manpreet Singh, while three others remain unidentified. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
