Operation Prahar 2.0 Launched in Punjab, 72-Hour Crackdown on Wanted Criminals

Amritsar: The Punjab Police launched Operation Prahar 2.0 against criminals at 8 am today (Monday). This operation will continue for the next 72 hours. The focus this time is on wanted criminals. Significantly, all senior officers have been assigned districts.

They will also be present in the field during the operation. Two thousand teams of 12,000 police personnel have been formed. DGP Gaurav Yadav says that there is no place for criminals in Punjab. Young people who have strayed from the wrong path will be given every opportunity to surrender.

    Prepare a list of criminals

The police have developed a special strategy for Operation Prahar 2.0. A list of criminals, hotspot areas, and their close associates and associates has been compiled in all districts. The operation is being conducted based on this. The DGP says that criminals will not be allowed to be glorified.

They will be punished for their actions. Although malicious individuals attempted to derail Operation Prahar-1 by posting misleading messages on social media, the operation was largely successful.

    The operation is also necessary

Operation Prahar 2.0 is taking place at a time when the High Court has already sought answers from the government on law and order issues. The main accused in the attack on the SSP office in Mohali and the murder of an AAP leader in Chandigarh are still at large. Opposition parties are constantly targeting the government on law and order issues. This operation assumes significant significance.

    13,000 seized in Prahar-1

Phase 1 of Operation Prahar began on January 20. During this period, action was taken against over 12,000 people. Of these, 5,290 were arrested, while 2,973 were preventively detained. 5,413 were released after questioning.
